Description
The Circle One SSR 8ft x 26in Extra Wide is the high-volume version of the 8ft SSR, built for situations where extra volume is the key factor in getting a rider up and riding. At 113.1L, it's aimed squarely at larger riders, while still working just as well in white shoreline surf as on a cleaner wave.
What Makes an SSR Board Different?
- Shaped by Jeff Townsley — Circle One's founder and shaper, designed specifically for UK surf schools and rental operations, and built to work in British wave conditions
- Performance edge at the tail — encourages progression from whitewater into turning on cleaner waves
- Soft fin thruster (3-fin) set-up — fins included, giving predictable drive and hold
- Squash tail, single concave to slight V bottom — a genuine performance shape underneath the soft deck, not just a foam blank
- Carry handle — makes the walk down to the water easier
- Soft IXPE textured 'foamie' skin — grippy underfoot and a softer landing if you fall on the board
Sizing
8ft x 26in extra-wide, 113.1L volume. Suited to riders around 50-130kg, in wave heights from 2ft to 6ft.
What's in the Box
The board comes with its fins included, ready to ride.
Who It's For
Larger or heavier beginner riders who need extra volume to catch waves easily, plus surf schools and rental operations equipping for bigger customers.
Rider Verdict
If a standard-width board feels like hard work to catch waves on, the extra width here is the fix — noticeably more float without losing the beginner-friendly shape.
