Description

The Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 Parawing is built for riders who want one compact wing that can handle upwind cruising, downwind runs, light wind freeride and everyday foil progression. It keeps the easy, free-feeling character of the original Pocket Rocket, but adds smoother power delivery, improved low-end pull, quicker stashing and a more predictable feel through the bar.

For most parawingers, this is the Ozone model to look at first. It has enough performance to keep experienced riders interested, but the V2 updates make it much easier to use for riders who are still building confidence with deployment, upwind riding and transitions.

Who It’s For

  • Discipline: Parawing foiling, freeride foil, downwind, upwind and light wind sessions.
  • Level: Suitable for entry-level parawingers through to advanced riders.
  • Best for: Riders who want a stable, efficient parawing with strong upwind ability, easy redeployment and a compact pack-down.

Key Features

  • New compact shape – Reduces the chance of catching a wing tip on the water, making the V2 feel cleaner and easier during starts, turns and redeployments.
  • Improved low-end power – Helps bring you onto foil earlier and gives the wing a more useful wind range, especially in lighter conditions.
  • Refined canopy tension – Creates a smoother, more constant power delivery with a bigger sweet spot and better stability.
  • Shorter bridle layout – Makes packing, stashing and redeployment quicker and less fiddly than the original Pocket Rocket.
  • New Bow Bar design – Gives more comfortable control, freer hand positioning and a more progressive feel through the power range.
  • Centre front line riser – Bundles the front lines more neatly, reducing hand force and making it easier to reach the canopy.
  • Single-surface construction – Keeps weight and pack size low while still generating the lift needed to get up on foil.
  • Harness line compatible – Allows you to hook in for reduced arm fatigue, better upwind efficiency and longer sessions.
  • Backpack included – Lightweight, spacious and practical for carrying your Pocket Rocket V2 to and from the water.

Real-World Feel

The Pocket Rocket V2 feels more settled and forgiving than the first version. The power comes in smoother, the stall point is easier to manage and the wing gives you more to lean against when driving upwind. Compared with Ozone’s PowerPack, the Pocket Rocket V2 is the more performance-focused all-rounder. It goes upwind better, covers a bigger range and feels more progressive for tacks, gybes and longer freeride sessions.

It is not quite as instantly stashable as the PowerPack, but it gives you a more supportive canopy and a faster, more efficient flying feel. If you want a parawing for repeated laps, mixed conditions and proper all-round use, the Pocket Rocket V2 is the stronger choice.

Setup / Fit

The Pocket Rocket V2 is available in 1.9m, 2.4m, 3.0m, 3.6m, 4.3m, 5.0m and 5.7m. The smaller sizes suit stronger wind, lighter riders and higher-speed foiling. The larger sizes give more low-end power for lighter wind, heavier riders or easier starts.

Ozone uses two Bow Bar sizes across the range. The 1.9m, 2.4m and 3.0m sizes use a 33cm bar, while the 3.6m, 4.3m, 5.0m and 5.7m sizes use a 36cm bar. A harness line is highly recommended for longer sessions, as it reduces arm fatigue and helps you ride upwind more efficiently.

Rider Feedback

Ozone rider Patrick Rebstock describes the Pocket Rocket V2 as “such a stable platform that holds its profile shape so well.” That sums up the appeal of this wing well: it feels calm, supportive and efficient, rather than twitchy or demanding.

Why We Stock It

We stock the Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 because it is one of the most complete parawings for UK foiling conditions. It has the range for lighter days, enough upwind performance for proper exploring, and the ease of use that helps riders progress without constantly fighting the wing. For customers moving from wingfoiling into parawinging, or for experienced foilers wanting a compact adventure setup, it makes a lot of sense.

FAQs

Is the Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 suitable for beginners?

Yes, it can be used by entry-level parawingers, especially if you already have foil experience. It has a smoother power delivery, easier handling and better low-end pull than the original Pocket Rocket, which makes the learning stage more manageable.

How does it compare to the Ozone PowerPack?

The PowerPack is the easiest and quickest option for stashing and repeated deployment. The Pocket Rocket V2 is the better all-round freeride choice, with stronger upwind performance, a bigger range and a more progressive feel for longer sessions.

Which size should I choose?

Smaller sizes are best for stronger wind and faster foils. Larger sizes give more power for lighter wind, heavier riders and easier take-offs. If you are unsure, choose based on your local wind range, foil size, rider weight and whether you want a high-wind or light-wind wing.

Can I use a harness line with it?

Yes. Ozone recommends using a dedicated harness line with the Pocket Rocket V2. Hooking in reduces upper-body fatigue and makes longer upwind or freeride sessions much more comfortable.

Is it only for downwind foiling?

No. The Pocket Rocket V2 is a do-it-all parawing. It works for upwind riding, freeride foiling, light wind sessions, downwind runs and general foil exploration.
