WALLASEY BEACH KITESURF GUIDE
Located in New Brighton, Wirral, Wallasey Beach is one of the North West’s best kitesurfing destinations. Just a short drive from Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, North Wales, and the Midlands, the Wirral Peninsula offers a wide range of spots that work across nearly all wind directions — with plenty of flat-water lagoons and waist-deep areas ideal for beginners and freestyle riders alike.
One of the Friendliest and Supportive Kitesurf Communities in the UK.

Northern Kites lessons take place here at Wallasey Beach, where the calm, shallow lagoons provide the perfect environment to take your first steps into kitesports.
WIND DIRECTION
North West - Onshore
North - Cross On
West South West - Cross Shore
Too close to SW can be gusty or not blow through
North East - Cross Shore
East Winds can be gusty
*the angle of the beach can change depending on the tide. We have a large lagoon that runs out from the beach with sand bars on the East and West
TIDES / CONDITIONS
It is not advised to kitesurf 2 hours either side of high tide due to very choppy water and lack of beach (Especially on a spring tide)
The best time to kite is low tide for the lagoon or ride the tide in from Low - Mid
We get big tidal ranges on a big spring tide, the water can be around 15 - 20 minutes walk away on the low tide.
Flat water with small waves.
Big Lagoon on low neap tides
HAZARDS
Wallasey Beach is generally very safe.
We have a shipwreck around 1 km offshore, visible and potentially dangerous only at low spring tides.
On high tide the groyne becomes surrounded by sea and it typically down wind. Please stay 200m upwind from this if you do go out at high tide. There can be strong currents that pull you towards the groyne if you are within 200M
In the summer months there is a swim zone 1 hour either side of high tide. Please do not kite within the red and white flags. Make sure you are 200M out to sea if passing the flags. Please chat to our friendly lifeguards if you are unsure
