Description

The F-ONE Rocket Wing S is designed for riders who want a more compact, reactive wing foil board with maximum control at speed.

Built with a shorter, narrower outline than the standard Rocket Wing range, the “S” version focuses on manoeuvability, efficiency and a direct connection to the foil. It’s aimed squarely at progressing and advanced riders who want a board that feels fast, precise and wave-ready.

This is not a beginner platform. It’s a performance shape for riders who are already comfortable getting up and riding consistently.

WHO IT’S FOR

  • Discipline: Wing foiling

  • Conditions: Moderate to strong wind, swell, waves, open water

  • Experience level: Intermediate to advanced riders

The Rocket Wing S suits riders who:

  • Already foil comfortably in both directions

  • Want tighter carving and more responsive turns

  • Prefer a compact board under their feet

  • Ride powered-up conditions

If you’re still learning to get up on foil, the standard Rocket Wing or a higher-volume board will be more forgiving.

KEY FEATURES

Compact Performance Shape

Shorter length and refined outline reduce swing weight and improve manoeuvrability. This makes the board feel more reactive in transitions and turns.

Optimised Volume Distribution

Volume is kept centred under your feet for balance while keeping the nose and tail compact. That gives you stability when starting without the “big board” feel once flying.

Sharp Rail Profile

Improves release during take-off and reduces touchdowns catching in choppy water.

Recessed Deck

Lowers your centre of gravity, improving stability and giving a more locked-in feel over the foil.

Multiple Footstrap Inserts

Allows you to run:

  • Single front strap

  • V front straps

  • Three-strap wave setup
Or ride strapless depending on your style.

REAL-WORLD FEEL

On the water, the Rocket Wing S feels tight and direct.

Compared to higher-volume beginner boards, it:

  • Lifts onto foil faster once powered

  • Feels lighter in transitions

  • Carves more naturally in swell

  • Recovers more cleanly from touchdowns

Because of its shorter length, it’s less forgiving in light wind starts. You’ll need solid technique and good balance. But once up, it rewards you with a responsive, surf-style ride that feels much closer to a dedicated wave board.

In stronger wind, this board really comes alive. It stays controlled and composed even when fully powered.

FIT / SETUP NOTES

  • Choose volume close to or slightly below your body weight (in litres) if you are an experienced rider.

  • If you are progressing but not yet fully consistent, go slightly higher in volume.

  • Pairs well with mid to high-aspect foils depending on your riding style.

  • Compact shape means slightly more active balance when kneeling or starting.

If you’re unsure on sizing, contact us and we’ll match it to your weight, foil setup and local conditions.

WHY WE STOCK IT

At Northern Watersports, we stock the Rocket Wing S because it fills the gap between freeride boards and full custom wave shapes.

It’s ideal for riders on our local coastlines who:

  • Ride in stronger winds

  • Want more manoeuvability

  • Are pushing into wave riding

We don’t recommend it as a first board. But for progressing riders ready to step down in size, it’s a genuine performance upgrade rather than just a smaller board.

FAQs

Is the Rocket Wing S suitable for beginners?
No. It’s designed for intermediate and advanced riders. Beginners should choose a higher-volume, longer board for stability.

What volume should I choose?
As a rule:

  • Advanced rider: Around bodyweight in litres or slightly under

  • Intermediate rider: Bodyweight + 5–10L

We’re happy to advise based on your experience.

Is it good for waves?
Yes. The compact shape and reduced swing weight make it much better suited to carving and swell riding than larger freeride boards.

Can it be ridden strapless?
Yes. It includes multiple strap insert options but works very well strapless for surf-style winging.
