Description

The TAHE Kalao is the load-hauler of the sit-on-top range — a genuinely three-person kayak that seats two adults and two children, or three adults, in proper individual seats, while still handling solo with the centre seat.

Built for near-shore family trips

A flat, shallow-draught hull keeps things stable and lets you paddle into places a deeper-hulled kayak can't reach, whether that's sea, river or a calm bay for the day.

  • True 3-person capacity — 3 proper ergonomic seats, up to 310kg (683lbs)
  • Triple-level moulded footrests — adjustable for paddlers of different heights in every seat
  • Wide rear storage with elasticated straps — room for family gear on longer days out
  • Bow, stern carry handles and deck lines — easier to transport and to re-board after a swim
  • Electric motor compatible — one of the few in the range that can be adapted to take a motor
  • TST thermoformed construction — durable, UV-treated polyethylene hull, made in France

Sizing

  • Length/width — 435cm x 88cm
  • Weight — 39.5kg
  • Max load — 310kg / 683lbs
  • Capacity — 2 adults + 2 children, 3 adults, or solo from the centre seat

Who it's for

Families or groups who want to paddle together rather than in convoy, and anyone who wants the option of fitting an electric motor for easier near-shore exploring.

Rider verdict

The most capacity in the range without giving up stability — a sensible choice if you regularly paddle with more than one other person.
