Description
The Naish Alana NVision is a purpose-built carbon performance twintip kiteboard designed specifically for women and smaller, lighter riders. With a sub-2kg weight, hybrid paulownia/foam core, and 3K carbon construction, it delivers genuine high-performance riding in a package that's been engineered from the ground up for lighter frames — not just a scaled-down men's board.
Two sizes: 132 and 136. Both under 2kg. Both built to make lighter riders feel like they're finally on a board that was made for them.
Who It's For
Discipline: Freeride and freestyle twintip
Level: Intermediate to advanced
Best for: Women, lighter and smaller-framed riders who want a genuine performance board — not a compromise. If you've been riding men's boards that feel too stiff, too heavy, or too wide to get your edge working properly, the Alana NVision is built for you.
Key Features
- Hybrid paulownia/PU foam core – Paulownia wood runs through the centre and under the heel areas for strength and pop where you need it; lightweight PU foam fills the rest, keeping weight to an absolute minimum
- 3K carbon + glass construction – Full carbon laminate delivers a lively, crisp response underfoot with excellent durability; the glass content keeps it from being brittle
- Sub-2kg total weight – Roughly 25% lighter than the standard Alana. For riders in the 50–65kg range, this genuinely changes how the board feels at the end of a long session
- Narrower outline (132 x 39cm / 136 x 40cm) – Shorter length and reduced width are tuned for lighter riders; easier to load the edge, less board to throw around in the air
- 3-stage rocker – Balanced pop for boosting with reliable upwind performance and a smooth, predictable feel across wind ranges
- 4.5cm asymmetric G10 fins – More bite when edging, more stability when powered up; asymmetric shaping improves directional hold
- Centred inserts – Flip the board to use a fresh rail when one side wears out, doubling your usable edge life
- FTC 2.0 Flex Torsion Control – Tuned flex pattern designed specifically for lighter riders, not retrofitted from a stiffer men's build
- 2-year Naish warranty – Backed as standard
Real-World Feel
Pick up an Alana NVision and the weight difference is immediately obvious — in a good way. Under 2kg sounds like a marketing line until you're an hour into a session, unhooking in chop, and realising you're still throwing tricks without your legs giving out. For riders in the 50–65kg range, a heavy board fights back constantly; the Alana NVision works with you. The narrower width means getting your heel over the rail happens naturally rather than through sheer force — the edge loads up cleanly at speed, and the 3K carbon delivers that snap back that makes riding feel alive rather than sluggish. The 3-stage rocker gives it reliable pop for boosting without the hard landings of a flatter board. Compared to the standard Alana, the NVision feels noticeably crisper and more reactive — the carbon makes inputs feel immediate. It's not a nervous, twitchy ride; it's confident and controlled, just with more signal between your feet and the water.
Setup / Fit
The Alana NVision comes in two sizes: 132cm and 136cm. Both are sized for women and smaller/lighter riders — this isn't a board that starts at 138 and has a single "women's option" tacked on. Choose based on your weight and riding style:
- 132cm – Best for lighter riders or those who want maximum manoeuvrability and a more playful feel. Easier to throw around in freestyle, quicker edge-to-edge transitions.
- 136cm – Adds a touch more surface area for better upwind performance and stability in light wind or choppy conditions. A good pick if you're at the heavier end of the target range or ride in gusty, unpredictable UK conditions.
If in doubt, get in touch — we're on the Wirral, we know these boards, and we're happy to help you pick the right size for your local conditions and riding style.

Pairs Well With
Running the Alana NVision on quality kite pads and straps makes a real difference — the board's response is so direct that a well-fitted binding setup lets you get the most from the carbon construction. Worth thinking about at the time of purchase.
Why We Stock It
We're a rider-owned shop on the Wirral, and we stock the boards we'd actually recommend to the people who come through our door. The Alana NVision is on the shelf because it's one of the few boards in kitesurfing that was genuinely designed for women and lighter riders from the ground up — not as an afterthought, not as a size-reduced version of a men's model. Naish have taken the time to tune the flex, dimensions, and construction specifically for lighter frames, and the result is a board that noticeably outperforms a heavier alternative for the target rider. At £949, it's a serious investment, but it's a carbon performance board with a 2-year warranty — it's priced for what it is.
FAQs
What's the difference between the Naish Alana and the Naish Alana NVision?
The standard Alana is built with a conventional core and glass construction — it's a great all-round women's twintip, versatile and well-priced. The Alana NVision adds a hybrid paulownia/PU foam core and 3K carbon laminate, making it roughly 25% lighter than the standard version. The NVision is crisper, more responsive, and noticeably livelier underfoot. If you're serious about performance and want to feel the difference carbon makes, the NVision is the upgrade.
Is the Naish Alana NVision only for women?
No — it's designed for women and smaller/lighter riders regardless of gender. If you're a lighter male rider who's always found standard twintips too stiff or too heavy for your weight, the Alana NVision is worth considering. The narrower dimensions and tuned flex pattern are about rider weight and frame size, not just gender.
What size Naish Alana NVision do I need?
The Alana NVision comes in 132 and 136. As a general guide: lighter riders or those prioritising freestyle and manoeuvrability will suit the 132; riders at the heavier end of the target range, or those who ride in lighter or choppier conditions (common on the UK coast), will find the 136 gives a bit more float and upwind ability. If you're unsure, get in touch and we can help based on your weight and local spot.
Is the Alana NVision good for beginners?
It's best suited to intermediate and advanced riders. The carbon construction makes it very responsive — which is great when you know how to use it, but can feel a bit demanding if you're still finding your feet. If you're just starting out, the standard Alana or another beginner-friendly twintip would be a better match. Come and chat to us about what stage you're at.
What fins does the Naish Alana NVision come with?
It ships with 4.5cm asymmetric G10 fins as standard. The asymmetric shaping increases rail grip when you edge and improves directional stability when you're riding powered. G10 is a fibreglass composite — durable and stiff enough to deliver solid bite without being fragile like carbon fins can be.
Does the 2-year warranty cover damage from normal use?
Naish's 2-year warranty covers manufacturing defects — not crash damage or wear from normal riding. That said, it's one of the better manufacturer warranties in kitesurfing and covers you against anything that's wrong from the factory. Keep your proof of purchase and register the board with Naish after buying.
