Description
The Mystic Motion Fullsuit 3/2mm FrontZip 2026 is a spring and summer wetsuit built for kitesurfers, wingfoilers, pumpfoilers and SUP riders who want proper neoprene quality without overheating once the water starts warming up. At £229.95 it delivers the core construction of the Mystic Motion range — MX3 foam neoprene, Fox Fleece chest lining, GBS seams with 50% waterproof stretch taping — in a 3/2mm profile built for the shoulder season and beyond.
This is the lighter sibling to the Motion 5/3mm: same chassis, same front-zip YKK entry, same 3D pre-curved panels, but a 3mm body and 2mm arm construction that performs from late spring right through summer and into early autumn. It sits in the wetsuits range as the warm-weather working suit — the suit you grab when the Irish Sea is finally into double figures and you want to be in the water rather than wrapped in a changing robe.
Who It's For
- Disciplines: Kitesurfing, wingfoiling, pumpfoiling, SUP — any active watersport where arm freedom matters
- Level: All levels; equally good for a beginner's first spring sessions as for an experienced rider who wants a reliable, well-built summer suit
- Best for: UK water temperatures roughly 13–20°C — typically April through to October in most spots. West Kirby and the Dee Estuary riders: this is your May-to-September go-to
- Not ideal for: UK winter or anywhere water drops below 10–11°C consistently — step up to the Motion 5/3mm or 4/3mm for colder months
Key Features
- MX3 Foam Neoprene — Mystic's mid-premium neoprene grade; softer, stretchier and lighter than the MX2 in the Star range. In a 3/2mm profile it feels genuinely light on the body without sacrificing durability
- Front Zip (YKK chest zip) — horizontal chest zip means the entire back panel is one uninterrupted stretch of neoprene, giving maximum arm-swing freedom for kitesurfing and winging without fighting the suit on every upstroke
- GBS Seams (Glued Blind Stitched) — seams glued and stitched without penetrating the outer neoprene face; dramatically reduces cold-water ingress at every panel join
- 50% Waterproof Stretch Taping — critical-area taping at high-flush zones (underarms, crotch, shoulders); the honest mid-spec choice that covers where it matters most at this price point
- Fox Fleece Inner Lining — Chest + Back — thermal fleece lining on the core panels; pulls on warmly even when it's not warm enough to go in without a suit at all
- Eco XTR Lining — Arms + Legs — recycled high-stretch broken lining on the limbs; fast to pull on, fast to dry, and allows the neoprene to move freely where you need mobility most
- Glideskin Neck — smooth skin-finish neoprene collar sits flush against the skin; seals against wind and spray without chafing on a full day's session
- Aquabarrier — silicone printing on the collarbone region creates a secondary seal between the overlapping chest-zip panels, stopping water tracking inward at the entry point
- Aquaflush 2.0 — revised neoprene panel structure that allows trapped water to drain out but resists re-entry through the same channels; less cold flush after wipeouts
- Hex-Tech Kneepads — 4-way stretch reinforced panels over the knees; durable enough for board contact and beach landings without stiffening your knee bend
- Non-slip Wrist & Ankle Cuffs — silicone-print cuffs keep the suit sealed at the extremities and stop sleeve ride-up mid-session
- Key Pocket 2.0 — external neoprene pocket on the lower leg with a mini-buckle keyloop; your van or car key is secure and easy to retrieve post-session
- 3D Pre-Curved Panels — suit is shaped on a 3D mould to match your natural athletic stance; less bunching behind the knee and elbow, reduced fatigue over long sessions
Real-World Feel
A 3/2mm suit lives or dies on how it moves, because the thinner the neoprene the less insulation you're carrying — which means the neoprene itself needs to work harder mechanically. The MX3 foam delivers here: in a 3/2mm it has a suppleness you don't get from cheaper rubber, and the 3D pre-curved arm panels mean you're not fighting stiffness when you're sheeting a kite or pumping a wing. The Fox Fleece chest lining is the slightly surprising feature on a spring suit — it adds genuine warmth when the water is cold enough that you appreciate it (an April evening on the Dee, for example) without turning the suit into an oven in August. The front-zip entry keeps the seam-free back doing its job regardless of season. Compared to the Motion 5/3mm, this is the same suit mechanically — same zip, same linings, same 3D shaping — just thinner. The step-down is 50% taping vs 100%, which is a sensible cost trade-off for a suit where full waterproofing matters less than in winter. In warm-water conditions, the taping difference is largely academic.
Setup & Fit
Front-zip entry has a short learning curve but becomes second nature quickly. Lay the suit flat, step in legs first, pull to the waist, feed your arms in one at a time, then draw the chest panel closed with the opposite hand before zipping. The zip sits horizontally across the upper chest — once it's closed and the Aquabarrier is seated, you're done. No reaching awkwardly behind your back. The suit will feel snug initially, especially across the chest — this is correct. MX3 neoprene softens and moulds with a few wears. In a 3/2mm, if it feels loose when dry it will flush when wet. When in doubt, size down rather than up.
The size run includes short (MS, LS) and tall (MT, LT) cuts alongside XS through XXL. If you're between standard and short, or between standard and tall, use the sub-size rather than sizing up or down — the fit difference at the waist and ankles in a spring suit is more noticeable than in a 5/3mm because there's less neoprene to compensate. If you're unsure, drop us a message before ordering.

Size Chart
Mystic wetsuits are cut to fit snugly — this is intentional. A loose 3/2mm flushes constantly in anything other than glassy conditions. Measure your chest at its widest point and your waist at its narrowest after exhaling.
| Size | Height (cm) | Chest (cm) | Waist (cm) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 164–169 | 85–89 | 70–75 | Standard |
| S | 170–175 | 89–94 | 75–80 | Standard |
| MS | 170–175 | 94–99 | 80–85 | Medium build, shorter height |
| M | 176–182 | 94–99 | 80–85 | Standard |
| MT | 183–188 | 94–99 | 80–85 | Medium build, taller height |
| LS | 172–177 | 99–104 | 85–90 | Large build, shorter height |
| L | 179–185 | 99–104 | 85–90 | Standard |
| LT | 186–192 | 99–104 | 85–90 | Large build, taller height |
| XL | 182–188 | 104–110 | 90–96 | Standard |
| XXL | 182–188 | 110–116 | 96–102 | Standard |
Measurements are body measurements, not suit measurements. If you are genuinely between sizes, size down — snug is warm in a spring suit too.
Pairs Well With
- Neoprene boots and gloves — in the UK, even in a 3/2mm, a 3mm split-toe boot and thin gloves extend your season at both ends; essential for April/May and September/October sessions
- Changing robes and mats — a robe makes beach changes easier even in summer, and you'll thank yourself for having a mat on any car park gravel
Why We Stock It
We're a rider-owned shop on the Wirral, and we session West Kirby, the Dee Estuary and further afield year-round. The Motion 3/2mm earns its place in our range because it's the answer to a specific question we hear from customers every spring: "what's a decent suit for when the water's warming up but isn't actually warm yet?" The MX3 neoprene and Fox Fleece lining mean this isn't a throwaway warm-weather suit — it's the same quality build as the winter Motion, just lighter. At £229.95 it's £30 less than the 5/3mm and built for the months most of us are actually riding the most. We stock it in Black across XS to XXL including short and tall cuts because good fit in a spring suit matters just as much as in a winter one.

FAQs
What is the Mystic Motion Fullsuit 3/2mm FrontZip 2026?
It's Mystic's mid-premium men's 3/2mm front-zip spring and summer wetsuit for 2026, built on MX3 neoprene with Fox Fleece chest and back lining, GBS seam construction, and 50% waterproof stretch taping in critical areas. The 3mm body and 2mm arm construction makes it the warm-weather version of the Motion Fullsuit range — same chassis and zip system as the 5/3mm, but lighter and more suitable for water temperatures from around 13°C upwards.
What is the difference between the Motion 3/2mm and the Motion 5/3mm?
Thickness is the main difference: 3mm body/2mm arms vs 5mm body/3mm arms. The 5/3mm is a UK winter suit built for water temperatures of 6–13°C; the 3/2mm is a spring and summer suit for 13–20°C. The 5/3mm also has 100% waterproof stretch taping on all seams, while the 3/2mm uses 50% taping in critical areas — a sensible trade-off for a suit intended for warmer, less hostile conditions. Both use the same MX3 neoprene, Fox Fleece lining, GBS seams, YKK front zip, and 3D pre-curved panels.
Is a 3/2mm wetsuit warm enough for UK kitesurfing?
Yes — from late April through to September/October in most UK spots. UK sea temperatures along the north-west coast typically hit 13–14°C by late May and peak around 17–18°C in August. A 3/2mm with boots and thin gloves is comfortable in those conditions for most riders. At either end of the season — early April or late October — water is closer to 11–12°C and a 3/2mm is manageable but you'll feel it on longer sessions. If you're regularly riding in those shoulder months, the Motion 4/3mm or 5/3mm will keep you warmer and in the water longer.
What does 50% waterproof stretch taping mean?
Waterproof stretch tape is applied internally over the GBS seams to prevent water ingress. 100% taping means every seam is taped; 50% means the highest-priority zones — underarms, crotch, shoulders, and other high-flush areas — are taped, with the remaining seams relying on the GBS construction alone. In a 3/2mm spring suit where you're not fighting UK winter flushing conditions, this is a practical and cost-effective approach. The critical areas that flush the most are still protected.
What does the YKK front zip feel like to use?
Different to a back-zip at first, straightforward after a session or two. You step in legs-first, pull the suit up, feed your arms in, then draw the chest panel closed from the outside before zipping. The zip sits horizontally across the upper chest. The benefit is a completely seam-free back panel — no restriction across your shoulders when sheeting, winging or paddling. The Aquabarrier silicone strip at the zip entry makes it more water-resistant than most back-zip designs. Once the technique is familiar it's actually faster to get in and out of than a back-zip.
How does the Motion 3/2mm compare to the Mystic Star 3/2mm?
The Star range is Mystic's entry-level line: it uses MX2 neoprene, a back zip, and partial taping. The Motion steps up to MX3 neoprene (noticeably softer and stretchier), a front-zip entry, GBS seams with 50% critical-area taping, Fox Fleece chest and back lining, and 3D pre-curved panels. In practice, the Motion moves better, feels better against the skin, and holds warmth more consistently. The price difference is meaningful, but so is the quality difference — the Motion is a suit you'll still be using in three to four seasons with proper care.
How do I care for the Mystic Motion 3/2mm wetsuit?
Rinse in fresh cold water after every session without exception — salt degrades neoprene and the GBS seam glue over time. Turn inside-out and hang by the waist on a wide hanger to dry; never by the shoulders, which stretches the neoprene at the neck. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Never machine wash. For the Fox Fleece lining, a gentle rinse-through to clear salt is better than wringing. A well-cared-for suit will last multiple seasons — check our wetsuit guide for more care tips.
