Description

The Naish Wing-Surfer Belt Leash is a waist belt system for wingfoiling that moves your wing leash attachment point off your wrist and onto your hips — and adds a separate fixed point for a board leash at the same time. One piece of kit, two functions. Part of the Naish 2026 wingfoiling accessories range and designed to work with the full Wing-Surfer line-up.

The belt is 2-inch nylon webbing with a neoprene lining, heavy-duty buckle and a ladder lock closure — substantial hardware for a waist leash, built to handle session after session in salt water. A PU-coated slider tube sits on the front of the belt: the wing leash runs through this tube and can slide freely from one side to the other as you transition, gybe or tack, so the leash moves with you rather than getting twisted around your body. The wing leash itself is Dyneema with an internal bungee and swivels at both ends — the same high-strength, no-rot construction as the standalone wrist leash. A separate fixed webbing loop on the belt provides a board leash attachment point that's independent of the sliding tube and rated for higher loads.

Who It's For

Wing foilers who want to move the wing connection away from their wrist (more comfortable, less fatiguing in long sessions), and anyone who wants to run a board leash without clipping it to their ankle. Both beginner and intermediate wing foilers benefit from the belt system — beginners because the board staying attached at the waist is genuinely useful when you're in the water frequently; intermediates because the waist attachment gives cleaner arm movement during transitions compared to a wrist connection.

Key Features

  • 2-Inch Nylon Webbing Belt — substantial, durable construction rated for repeated use in salt water
  • Neoprene Lining — sits comfortably against skin or over a thin wetsuit without chafing
  • PU-Coated Sliding Tube — wing leash slides freely side-to-side through the belt during transitions; no twisting, no getting caught up mid-gybe
  • Dyneema Leash with Internal Bungee — high-strength, non-stretch core; bungee absorbs sudden loads; swivels at both ends prevent line twist
  • Fixed Board Leash Loop — separate, high-load-rated attachment point for a board leash; keeps board leash routing independent of wing leash
  • Heavy-Duty Buckle + Ladder Lock — secure closure that adjusts over a wetsuit and stays put during use
  • One Size Fits All — adjustable to fit most adult waist sizes over a standard wetsuit

Real-World Feel

The main reason riders switch to a belt system is the transition. With a wrist leash, every time the wing crosses your body in a gybe or a tack, the leash drags across your hand or pulls your wrist. With a belt leash and sliding tube, the leash slips smoothly from side to side at hip height as the wing moves — you barely notice it's there. The neoprene lining means you can wear it for a full session without it cutting in, even against bare skin under a shorty. The separate board leash loop is a practical detail: you don't want your board leash running through the same slider tube as your wing leash — the two would tangle immediately, and the slider tube isn't rated for board leash loads. Run your board leash through the fixed loop and your wing leash through the tube, and they stay independent.

Setup and Fit

Wear the belt around your waist or hips, over your wetsuit. Thread the wing leash through the PU-coated slider tube and attach the swivel end to your wing's leash point (the loop on the leading edge cuff, same as a wrist leash). Attach your board leash to the fixed webbing loop — not the slider tube. Tighten the belt so it sits snugly but doesn't dig in when you're in a foiling stance. The buckle should be accessible from the front for quick release if needed.

Materials and Construction

2-inch nylon webbing outer belt with neoprene inner lining. Heavy-duty buckle closure with ladder lock adjustment. PU-coated slider tube mounted on the front face of the belt for wing leash routing. Wing leash: Dyneema core line with internal bungee, PU outer sleeve, corrosion-resistant swivels at both ends. Separate fixed nylon webbing loop for board leash attachment — rated for higher loads than the sliding tube.

Pairs Well With

The belt leash replaces a wrist leash for the wing — it doesn't replace an ankle leash for the board. If you're learning on a bigger board or riding in onshore conditions, add a standard ankle leash routed through the fixed loop. Browse the full wing foiling range for wings, and the Naish ADX Wrist Leash if you prefer to keep your wing tethered at the wrist instead.

Why We Stock It

Once you've tried a belt leash system for wingfoiling, the wrist leash feels like a compromise. The sliding tube design is the detail that makes the difference — it's not just a leash moved from wrist to waist, it's a leash that's designed to move with you during transitions. At £79.99 it's a considered accessory buy, and one that most riders who try it don't go back from.

FAQs

What is the Naish Wing-Surfer Belt Leash used for?

It moves your wing leash attachment from your wrist to your waist, and adds a separate board leash attachment point at the same time. The sliding PU tube on the belt lets the wing leash shift from side to side during transitions, gybes and tacks without tangling or pulling.

What's the difference between a belt leash and a wrist leash for wingfoiling?

A wrist leash clips to your wrist — simple and cheap, but can get in the way during transitions and causes some wrist fatigue in long sessions. A belt leash sits at your waist, and the sliding tube means the leash moves freely as the wing crosses your body. More comfortable for extended sessions and cleaner through transitions once you're used to it.

Can I attach both my wing and my board leash to the Naish Belt Leash?

Yes — that's the design. The wing leash runs through the PU-coated sliding tube (allowing side-to-side movement). The board leash attaches to the separate fixed webbing loop. Do not run both through the sliding tube — the board leash must go to the fixed loop to prevent tangling and to handle the higher loads a board leash sees.

Does the Naish Wing-Surfer Belt Leash fit over a wetsuit?

Yes — the belt uses a 2-inch nylon webbing construction with a ladder lock buckle that adjusts to fit over standard wetsuit thickness. One size fits most adult waist sizes.

Is the Naish Wing-Surfer Belt Leash suitable for beginners?

Yes — it's a good option for beginners who fall off frequently and want to keep both wing and board with them. The board leash attachment at the waist can feel more secure than an ankle leash when you're still getting comfortable with falls and water starts.

Do I still need a wrist leash if I use the Naish Wing-Surfer Belt Leash?

No — the belt leash replaces the wrist leash for your wing. You use one or the other, not both. The belt leash includes its own Dyneema wing leash, so everything you need to connect wing to body is included in the belt system.
