Description

Ozone Enduro V4 Kite

The Ozone Enduro V4 is the fourth generation of what has long been regarded as one of the best all-round LEI kites on the market. Built as a Curved Open-C shape, it covers freeride, freestyle, wave riding and foiling without the compromises a specialist kite forces in other disciplines. The V4 introduces Ozone's Continuous Curve Leading Edge construction and updated Transverse Sail Shaping — both aimed at reducing parasitic drag and improving airflow consistency across the canopy — alongside the three-stage Variable Bridle Geometry that allows riders to shift the kite's character between sessions rather than between kites.

Who It's For

Intermediate to advanced riders who want maximum versatility from a single kite. If you ride twin-tip one day, foil the next and occasionally take it into the surf, the Enduro V4 is designed for exactly that use case. Its progressive handling and large depower range make it accessible to riders working through their first freestyle moves as well as those already comfortable with unhooked tricks. We currently have the 8m in stock, which is suited to medium-to-high wind sessions for most adult riders.

Key Features

  • Curved Open-C shape — strikes the balance between the responsive, direct feel of a C-kite and the depower and relaunch advantages of a bow kite; better boost and drift than a pure delta, more bar feel than a pure SLE
  • Continuous Curve Leading Edge (CCLE) — each LE segment curves continuously rather than using straight segments with angled joints; reduces parasitic drag and maintains a cleaner airfoil profile across the full span
  • Transverse Sail Shaping — additional panels attach to the LE and optimise canopy tension at the critical airfoil section; works with the CCLE to reduce turbulent airflow and improve the lift-to-drag ratio
  • Three-stage Variable Bridle Geometry (VBG) — Freeride (middle, factory default), Freestyle (lower knot) and Wave/Foil (upper knot) settings; changes kite position in the window, bar pressure and steering reactivity; swapped via pigtail knots in under a minute with no extra lines required
  • Back-line adjustment — two trim positions on the back lines customise turn speed and bar pressure independently of the VBG setting; closer to LE gives slower turns and more pressure, closer to TE gives faster turns and lighter feel
  • Fast Flow One-Pump Inflation — single-point inflation with high airflow between struts and LE; hose clips seal against unwanted deflation; faster to inflate and pack than multi-valve systems
  • Teijin TechnoForce Triple Ripstop canopy — strong construction with high resistance to stretch and tearing across both the canopy and load zones
  • Thinner bridle lines — reduced drag contribution from the bridle compared to previous Enduro versions; part of the overall aerodynamic refinement in the V4

Variable Bridle Geometry — The Three Settings

  • Freeride (middle knot — factory default) — balanced performance for all-round riding in any conditions; the right starting point for most riders and most days
  • Freestyle (lower knot) — increases bar pressure and power in kite loops; more pop for unhooked tricks; heavier, more direct feel for riders who prefer it
  • Wave / Foil (upper knot) — decreases bar pressure and increases steering reactivity at all power states; easier to turn when de-powered; better for wave riding and hydrofoiling where a light, responsive feel is preferred

Real-World Feel

The Enduro V4 is noticeably smoother in the air than its predecessor — canopy tension is tighter and the CCLE construction keeps the profile clean under load changes. The depower range is large; the bar can be pushed most of the way out without the kite backing and losing efficiency. For jumping, the V4 delivers good boost with genuine hang-time rather than a quick snap-and-drop. Drift in the surf is solid on the Wave/Foil VBG setting, and for foiling the light bar pressure at that setting makes micro-adjustments through gybes much easier. Freestyle riders using the lower VBG setting will find more resistance through kite loops and a more defined power stroke for tricks.

Setup

  1. Connect your bar and lines before inflating
  2. Select your VBG setting (factory default is Freeride / middle knot)
  3. Inflate via the single Fast Flow valve; the system equalises pressure between LE and struts automatically
  4. Seal hose clips after inflation
  5. Check back-line adjustment setting before launching — this can be changed quickly on the beach

Pairs Well With

Ozone's own Contact Water Bar V5 is the natural pairing — pigtail connector sizing is designed to work together without adapters. The Enduro V4 is also compatible with the Ozone Flying Line Set V2 for a complete, matched setup.

Why We Stock It

The Enduro is one of the kites we point experienced riders toward when they want to replace a quiver of three with one genuinely versatile option. The V4's CCLE, VBG and back-line adjustment together give it a wider effective wind range and more adjustable character than most kites at this price point. Ozone's build quality and warranty support are consistently strong.

FAQs

Is the Ozone Enduro V4 good for beginners?

The Enduro V4 is rated intermediate to advanced. For learning, we'd strongly recommend starting with kitesurfing lessons before choosing a kite — instructors advise on the right first kite for your specific level.

What bar should I use with the Enduro V4?

The Ozone Contact Water Bar V5 is the recommended match. It's compatible with most modern 4-line bars but using an Ozone bar avoids potential pigtail fitment issues and ensures the safety system and depower system function as designed.

How does the Enduro V4 compare to the Ozone Alpha V2?

The Alpha V2 is a single-strut, lighter design optimised for foiling and travel. The Enduro V4 is a multi-strut C-shape kite with more power, structure and suitability for freestyle and jumping. If foiling light winds is the primary focus, the Alpha V2; if you want a kite that boosts well and handles freestyle, the Enduro V4.

What size Enduro V4 is right for me?

The 8m covers roughly 18–28 knots for an average 75 kg rider on a twin-tip; on a foil board the lower end of that range is achievable. Contact us with your weight and typical local wind conditions and we can advise whether the 8m is the right size or whether to order another size in.
