Description
The Ozone V3 Footpads and Straps are the bindings used on Ozone's own twin-tip boards — and available separately to upgrade any twin-tip kiteboard with standard 6" insert spacing. They're built around Ultralon Performance Foam® in the straps and a multi-density foam footpad system: two materials chosen to absorb impact from landings while still transmitting enough board feel to edge and carve properly.
Two strap configurations are available — Single Adjustment and Double Adjustment — in Small or Medium/Large foot sizes. If you're replacing worn pads on an existing board or building a new setup, these are a strong choice at the price.
Who It's For
- Discipline: Kitesurfing — freeride, big air, freestyle
- Level: All levels; the comfort and adjustability suit beginners, and the locked-in feel of the Double Strap version satisfies advanced riders
- Best for: Riders replacing tired pads on an existing board; anyone building a complete twin-tip setup; riders who ride with both barefoot and neoprene booties across the seasons
Key Features
- Ultralon Performance Foam® Straps — Ozone's own foam compound that resists compression over time; the strap maintains its shape and cushioning through a full season of use rather than packing out after a few months
- Plush Neoprene Strap Lining — soft interior that's comfortable barefoot or with wetsuit booties; no hot spots or strap edges cutting into the top of the foot
- Multi-Density Footpads — dual-layer construction with a softer shock-absorbing base and a denser, textured top surface; impact from hard landings is dampened but board feel is retained for edging
- Single Adjustment Strap — one velcro adjustment across the instep; simple, proven, fast to get in and out of; suits most riders across a wide range of conditions
- Double Adjustment Strap — dual velcro points let you tune front-of-foot and back-of-foot tension independently; the better call for freestyle riding, longer feet, or riders who want the maximum locked-in feeling
- 9 Strap Positions + 5 Stance Angles — the reinforced composite baseplate allows full stance width and angle adjustment; set once, and your stance is where you want it regardless of the board
- Universal 6" (152.4mm) Mounting — compatible with virtually all twin-tip kiteboards using standard insert spacing; fits Ozone boards and most other brands
Real-World Feel
The Ultralon foam in the straps is noticeably more supportive than the budget-level EVA foam you'll find in less expensive bindings. After a long session on a punchy 20-knot day, the difference shows — your feet feel less beaten up when you come in. The multi-density pad underneath works well too: the softer base layer takes the edge off hard landings on the water without making the pad feel mushy underfoot when you're trying to edge upwind. The Double Strap version is worth the extra £15 if you're doing any freestyle or riding with a more forward stance — the additional adjustment lets you dial in the tension front-to-back in a way that single-strap bindings can't match. The 9-position baseplate is as flexible a mounting system as you'll find in this price range.
Setup / Fit
- Mount the baseplates to your board using the supplied screws and washers at your chosen stance width and angle. Start close to your natural shoulder width and adjust from there.
- Thread the strap through the baseplate slots as indicated in the instructions. The strap attachment points correspond to the numbered positions on the baseplate.
- Adjust the velcro strap tension with your foot inside — snug enough to feel secure, loose enough that you can slide your foot out quickly if needed.
- For Double Straps: adjust the front and rear velcro tabs independently. The front tab controls the toe-box; the rear controls instep tension. Set each to your preference before your first session.
- Check all baseplate screws are firmly tightened before launching and re-check after the first few sessions as screws can settle.
Size S fits approximately UK 4–8; Size M/L fits approximately UK 8–13. If you're between sizes, the M/L fits with thinner socks or barefoot; size S fits with thicker neoprene booties. Contact us if you're unsure.

Why We Stock It
We're a rider-owned shop on the Wirral, and we've seen a lot of different footpad and strap combinations come and go. The Ozone V3 system is one of the few we consistently recommend across skill levels — the Ultralon foam genuinely lasts, the adjustment range means the stance works for a wide range of riders, and having both single and double strap options available means the right choice exists for both the rider who wants simplicity and the one chasing maximum lock-in. If you're not sure whether Single or Double Straps suit your riding, give us a call — we can usually narrow it down in a few questions.
FAQs
What is the difference between Single and Double Adjustment Straps?
The Single Adjustment Strap has one velcro closure that tightens across the instep. It's straightforward, fast to get in and out of, and suits the majority of riders for freeride and general kitesurfing. The Double Adjustment Strap has two separate velcro points — one at the front of the foot, one towards the heel — allowing you to tune toe-box and instep tension independently. This is more useful for freestyle riding, for riders with longer or narrower feet, or for anyone who wants the most locked-in connection possible. The Double Straps cost £15 more per pair.
What size footpads should I choose?
Small fits approximately UK 4–8 and works barefoot or with thin socks. Medium/Large fits approximately UK 8–13 and accommodates most neoprene wetsuit booties. If you're a UK 8 and ride barefoot in summer but with 3mm booties in winter, M/L is usually the more versatile choice.
Are the Ozone V3 Footpads compatible with my kiteboard?
Yes, in almost all cases. The V3 pads use standard 6" (152.4mm) insert spacing — the universal standard used by the vast majority of twin-tip kiteboards. They are compatible with Ozone boards and boards from other brands including North, Cabrinha, Eleveight, and most others. If you're unsure about your board, check the insert pattern or contact us.
How often should I check the mounting screws?
Check them before every session for the first few sessions after fitting — screws can settle slightly as the baseplate beds into the board. After that, a weekly check during regular use is sufficient. Loose footpads mid-session are both inefficient and frustrating, so a 30-second pre-launch check is worth the habit.
Can I use the Ozone V3 straps with my existing footpads or do I need to buy the full set?
The straps are sold with the pads as a complete system including baseplates, hardware and pads. The straps and baseplates are designed to work together and aren't sold separately. If you only need new strap pads for an existing baseplate, contact us — we can often advise on compatibility.
