Description
The Play Dirty Black BeachBox Shower Tank is for the riders who embrace the mud, the salt and the chaos — and still want a proper warm rinse sorted at the end of it. Bold graphic on black, same bombproof 5-litre hand-pump pressure shower underneath. Fill it at home, pump it up at the beach, done.
Who It's For
For any watersports rider who rinses off in a car park and knows the difference between a good post-session and a cold, gritty drive home. Kitesurfers cleaning salt off bars and lines before they sit in a bag for a week. Wing foilers rinsing mast connections. Surfers who want a warm rinse and not a cold trickle from an old camping bag. The Shower Tank fits in a boot bag, a rucksack side pocket, or paired with a BeachBox Set for a full boot station.
Key Features
- 5L / 1.3 gal capacity — 4–5 minutes of flow time; enough for a full rinse and wetsuit wash
- 40–50 PSI hand-pump pressure — 10–15 pumps builds a strong, consistent shower flow
- 5 spray modes — from fine mist to full shower via the multi-mode spray gun
- Neoprene insulated slipcover — retains warm water temperature on the drive to the beach
- 7ft neoprene coil hose — stretches far enough to reach both feet and rinse kit without moving the tank
- BPA-free HDPE food-safe plastic — safe with drinking water, UV stable, built for salt-air environments
- 3-arched base — structural arch prevents tank ballooning under pressure
- Air pressure release valve — safely vent before opening after pre-pressurising
- Handle lock carry handle — locks flat or upright for secure one-hand carry
- Drawstring fastener — clips the spray gun to the tank so it doesn't rattle loose in transit
- Screw-top refill cap — wide opening for easy filling; no funnel needed
Real-World Feel
It's a Wednesday evening session. You're out of the water, it's getting dark, and there's a one-hour drive home ahead. The Shower Tank has been sitting in the boot since you filled it that morning. Pump it up, hit the full-shower setting, and you've got a warm rinse that actually has pressure behind it — not the apologetic dribble of a gravity bag. It takes about 90 seconds to rinse a full suit and your hair. The hose is long enough that you're not wrestling the tank to get to your back. Pack it away, towel down, drive home.
Setup & Use
- Fill to 5L via the screw-top cap — use hot (not boiling) tap water for maximum warmth on arrival.
- Slide into the neoprene slipcover to retain heat during transit.
- At the beach, connect the 7ft coil hose if not already attached.
- Pump the handle 10–15 times to build 40–50 PSI pressure.
- Select your spray mode and rinse — re-pump as needed to maintain pressure.
- Vent with the pressure release valve before unscrewing the cap to refill.
The tank can also be pre-pressurised before you paddle out, so it's ready the moment you come back in.

Why We Stock It
Post-session rinse gear is one of those product categories where most things disappoint — gravity bags with no pressure, camping showers that need a pump you've lost, or solutions that take longer to set up than the session lasted. The BeachBox Shower Tank is different because it actually works with your routine rather than adding to it. Fill it at home, it's ready when you are. No extras, no excuses. We stock it because it's the version that gets used every time rather than sitting forgotten in the corner of the boot.
FAQs
- Can I use the Shower Tank on its own, or does it need the BeachBox?
- Completely standalone. The Shower Tank comes with the hose, spray gun and neoprene slipcover and works perfectly on its own. The BeachBox Set adds the storage box, changing lid and organisers, but the tank needs nothing extra.
- How warm does the water stay?
- In the neoprene slipcover, water filled at home stays noticeably warm for 1–2 hours in typical UK conditions. Start as hot as you comfortably can (not boiling) — the slipcover holds heat, it doesn't generate it.
- How many pumps does it need?
- Around 10–15 pumps builds 40–50 PSI — enough for a strong shower flow. Re-pump takes a few seconds as pressure drops during use.
- Is it safe for drinking water?
- Yes. The tank is BPA-free HDPE food-safe plastic, the same material used in food storage and water containers. You can fill it from a domestic tap without concern.
- What's the difference between the colour variants?
- The tank, specs and performance are identical across all colourways — Black, Purple, Camo, Play Dirty Black and Play Dirty Multi are graphic differences on the neoprene slipcover and tank body. Pick the one that matches your kit.
