Description
The Circle One Pulse 9ft is a beginner-friendly longboard from the Australian Board Company range, built for riders who want stability and an easy, forgiving ride. Generous volume makes wave-catching simple in both small and larger surf, with plenty of cruising ability along the way.
What's it built from?
- EPS high-density pressurised foam core
- Epoxy resin laminate — for lightness and strength
- Premium Porcher E-Glass fibreglass — for superior strength
- Crosslink reinforcement on deck and rails for maximum impact resistance
- Unidirectional full-length 4-ply wood stringer — strength and controlled flex
- Hot coat durable outer shield finish
The result is an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that holds up to regular beginner and intermediate use.
Fin setup
Fitted with FCSII finboxes — the strongest pre-glass fin system on the market — and supplied with a set of composite FCS1-style fins (2 side fins plus an 8" centre fin). Optional FCSII fin upgrades are available if you want to fine-tune the ride later.
How does it ride?
A round pin tail and single concave running through to a slight V in the tail keep the ride smooth and forgiving, whether you're cruising mellow beach breaks or practising your nose rides.
Sizing
9' x 22¼" x 2¾" — 69.05 litres. Suited to rider weights of roughly 60–110kg.
What's in the box
The board comes with a set of composite FCS1-style fins fitted via FCSII finboxes. A full package with travel bag, leash, wax and fins is also available separately if you'd rather kit out in one go.
Who it's for
Beginners and beginner-progressive surfers dipping into longboarding for the first time. At home from knee-high to head-high waves, with enough glide and stability to make catching your first waves genuinely fun.
Rider verdict
A confidence-inspiring first longboard — forgiving, easy to paddle, and built with the strength to survive a season of learning.
